5 WAYS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF HOLIDAY MARKETING

Tis the Season… To Grow Your Practice!  If you’re in denial in your business about how fast the holidays are approaching you could end up wasting a lot of money on your Facebook ads over the next few weeks…

So here’s the deal — competition is going to be CRAZY over the next few weeks. All the big guys are going to be spending thousands and thousands of dollars a day on their ads.

And there’s only so much room in the News Feed. More competition means higher ad cost.

So what do you do? Keep reading for my 5 best tips to make the most of your ads this holiday season…

1. PLAN AHEAD AND EXPECT TO PAY MORE

Facebook ads are priced according to competition.  Over December, you will be competing with all the Christmas ads trying to get some newsfeed space.  Personally, I will skip December, and focus on January At this point, the Christmas crowd has left, but you are going to see the spike with Health and Wellness ads for New Years resolutions.  This means you could pay 2 to 4 times more what you would normally pay. So give yourself enough budget to work with so you can still meet your goals.

2. DOUBLE DOWN ON WHAT’S ALREADY WORKING

Unless you are a real marketing pro genius, or working with a crazy big budget, now is not really the time to test out experimental new material.  Instead, focus on what’s already working. If you have campaigns that are converting, go ahead and put your money on those. If you want to try some new material, do it before December hits.

3. CHECK-IN AT LEAST ONCE A DAY

Cost can spike through the holidays so you want to keep an eye on your costs throughout the day. You already know that you can expect to pay more for your ads, but we need to be looking at other details too.  For instance: Your ads could start to slow down or your cost might drastically spike due to all of the competition.  I recommend downloading the Facebook Adverts Manager on your phone so that you can keep an eye on things and make simple changes on the go.

4. FOCUS ON YOUR FANS, EMAIL LIST AND WEBSITE VISITORS

Hopefully you’ve spent all year building your audience and now it’s time to focus on your loyal followers. This is what we classify as warm/hot leads and are going to be the people most likely to book something with you so it makes sense to focus on them.  If you’re spending your entire budget on what we call cold traffic you could end up wasting a lot of money. So show some love to the people that have supported you all year long. Haven’t built your list up yet? There is still time!

5. MIX UP YOUR CREATIVE WITH SLIDE SHOW, CAROUSEL, OR VIDEO ADS

With the amount of competition on the Newsfeeds, your basic ads graphics just aren’t really going to cut it right now. Slideshow ads are a great way to jazz up your ads when you’re not quite ready to make the jump to video.  It’s a super quick and easy way to catch the attention of your audience and show case your products or services.

Carousel ads are also awesome because they do the same thing — they just aren’t video.

So get creative and find a way to make your ads really POP in the News Feed.
